NORTH comic Vic Reeves selects the novel that has most influenced his life . . . On The Road by American writer Jack Kerouac.
The novel is an account of a road trip across America in search of adventure and jazz.
It was originally written on several 4m (12ft) sheets of drawing paper taped together.
The BBC said: “It is a compelling snapshot of the Beat Generation delivered in free-flowing sentences that have captivated Vic Reeves and many others.”
