NEW celebrity chef Valentine Warner joins a community of Benedictine monks in North Yorkshire in the fourth of six programmes.
He wants to indulge his habit of finding the best ingredients for his apple Charlotte . . . and he’s got his eyes on the order’s Bramleys.
The result may make pleasant eating, but Valentine might wonder what the monks would think of his antics after leaving them.
He also travelled to the Home Counties, where he over-indulged on a visit to the country’s biggest collection of plum trees.
However, he manages to recover in time to make a sweet plum crumble.
Later, he tries to prove pears and cheese are a perfect autumn pairing as he makes a sweet and savoury tart.
