TOO old for children’s books but still too young for adult fiction?

Novelist and broadcaster Louise Doughty explores the growing popularity of the middle option – the Young Adult Fiction market.

Books for teenagers made more than £50m in 2009, a growth of 89% on the previous year, and interest shows no sign of abating.

Louise speaks to some award-winning authors for children and young people, including Richelle Mead, author of the cult Vampire Academy series, Patrick Ness and Meg Rossoff.
