Flights cancelled because of protests
Following disruption by protesters in Scotland this morning, a number of flights between Newcastle and Aberdeen have been affected.
Climate protesters from the Plane Stupid group broke through a perimeter fence and set up a barricade on a taxi-way at Aberdeen airport. They gave themselves up at just after 8am, after a six hour demonstration.
Two flights had to be cancelled:
Eastern Airways T34091 07:25 arrival from Aberdeen
Eastern Airways T34034 14:00 departure to Aberdeen
Eastern Airways operate five flights a day between Newcastle and Aberdeen. All other services are operating as normal.
Passengers booked on flights to/from Aberdeen today are advised to contact Eastern Airways on 0870 3669100 for further advice.
