Crash closes A1 near Ellington, Northumberland

A CRASH has closed a Northumberland stretch of the A1 in both directions.

Police were called at shortly before 4pm to the smash involving a BMW and a lorry on the northbouond carriageway of A1.

Officers are currently at the scene of the accident near the Seahouses turnoff but the road has been closed in both directions.
