CHERYL Cole has premiered her new solo single Fight For This Love on Radio 1 this morning and fans are already hailing it as a top tune.

The Geordie icon played the tune on the Chris Moyles show, sparking rave reviews from people on Twitter.

Mark_Byron said: "The new Cheryl Cole single is amazing, if it's worth having it's worth fighting for. Go girl!"

DerekBarron added: "Cheryl Cole's debut solo single was fantastic! Congrats Cheryl!"

ShawnShamrock said: "So the new Cheryl Cole Song is awesome. Sounds like Mel C, Jordan Sparks, Mary J Blige, Rhianna, and Leona Lewis in a blender."

Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole has become a Geordie icon after her exploits with the band and her appearances as a judge on the X Factor TV show. Here we take a look back at how Cheryl has grown up in the spotlight.

Cheryl's debut solo album will reportedly feature the singer in collaboration with Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am, Xenomania and Taio Cruz.

It has also been claimed the 26-year-old will perform her new single on the X Factor live shows later in the series.

One person who will definitely be rushing out to buy her new material is fellow X Factor judge Louis Walsh.

Walsh has been singing the star’s praises saying he predicts big things for Cheryl as she prepares to go it alone.

He said: "I actually think she’s the new Kylie. There’s no doubt about it, Cheryl will be a huge popstar when she releases her solo album."

Walsh added: "Her career is only just starting and she will be the most successful member of Girls Aloud."
