Miliband and Merlin lack magic touch

HAS anyone else noticed the similarity between Merlin and David Miliband?

Watching the adventures of the young wizard on BBC1 I can’t help noticing how he’s a dead ringer, sort of, for the Foreign Secretary and MP for South Shields.

The same facial features stare out from pictures of both men.

So, I wonder, perhaps Merlin is David Miliband.

Both see themselves as saviours of their respective Camelots.

Both have a destiny to fulfil, whether the result of a prophecy by a dragon or political ambition.

And both are not taken seriously.

In Merlin’s case, he is servant to an Arthur who doesn’t like him and is unable to achieve his full potential in a Camelot where magic is banned.

And in Miliband’s case, he is servant to a Prime Minister who claims it’s no time for a novice and is unable to achieve his full potential in a country where Labour needs someone to wave a magic wand before the next election.

And, of course, both spout mumbo jumbo.
