THEY spend the night on the tiles, don’t clean up after themselves, and occasionally get lost on the way home. But you have to love those pigeon fanciers.
So best of luck to the lads who are campaigning on two fronts.
First, the guys in Northumberland heading a campaign to have pigeon racing declared an official sport.
Second, the fanciers in Sunderland fighting off plans to turf them out.
Planners want to use the land for development and, so the saying goes, don’t care whose feathers are ruffled.
Lets’s hope the pigeon lovers live to fight another day.
