I READ with interest that lollipop men and women are to get CCTV cameras mounted on their sticks.
The idea is to catch drivers who use mobile phones or get impatient. I suggest we also have cameras mounted to catch images of said lollipop people.
I remember watching one old codger who was so past it that he was unable to walk to the middle of the road and instead, while standing on the pavement, held his stick at right angles to stop the traffic.
And another, this time a young women with a giant chip on her shoulder, leapt into the road at speed in an aggressive manner to stop the cars.
Both of them were as much danger as the motorists they were supposed to stop safely.
