Disabled badge blues

I OFTEN see cars without blue badges in parking bays meant for the disabled.

I see it at the supermarket, the sports centre, here, there, everywhere. The culprits? Often staff at the said locations.

And that is part of the reason why the current system does not work.

There are plans to increase the cost of disabled permits but, without root and branch reform of the scheme, and a robust and consistent approach to fining offenders, it won’t do anything to make life easier for the people they were designed to help.
