Swim dad should be applauded

PROOF that the world has gone utterly potty comes this week courtesy of health and safety fruitcakes who refused to allow a single dad to take his two sons swimming.

Firefighter Phillip Smith, of Sheffield, was barred from taking his children into his local pool because under four-year-olds must be given one-to-one supervision. His children are aged five and three.

At a time when the Government is panicking over the obesity epidemic, here is a man who is encouraging his children to lead a healthy lifestyle.

He should be applauded. Instead, he is being penalised for being single.
