I LOVE to say I told you so! Back in March I predicted Michael Jackson would let down fans.
Now he has pushed back his first show at London’s O2 Arena - scheduled for July 8 - by five nights . . . and three other July dates now won’t take place until March 2010! What’s more, anyone who purchased tickets from unofficial websites - and there will be thousands - is unlikely to get their money back.
Jacko blamed the setback on “other events” preventing him from rehearsing.
What did he expect? The O2 is a major venue. He can’t seriously expect the owners to cancel their programme of events so he can pop in for a soundcheck!
Selfish Jacko’s behaviour is typical of a man who thinks nothing of keeping fans waiting hours for a two-minute announcement, which he did when he launched the shows.
And what are the chances of him completing all 50 dates? I’d bet my house on there being yet more grief ahead for his loyal fans.
I pity those who have already forked out cash for the postponed gigs.
Hopefully, they will get a full refund. If not, see if Jacko cares.
