MARTIN GRAY used to play in the league which has set Joey Barton and Didier Drogba up for life.
Neither man will know him. Nor, more’s the pity for all of us, will they ever want to.
More’s the pity, because Gray’s recent story might just offer a semblance of perspective to the addled minds of that delusional duo.
Between Barton and Drogba losing the plot last week, Gray lost his job at Darlington.
Thankfully, the former Sunderland midfielder didn’t surrender to the persecution complex which grips young Joey and Didier, but found work at Oldham.
Numerous other Darlington staff were not so lucky.
