I thought of Quinn when I heard that Newcastle – also looking to go up – have agreed to switch not one, but two away games for Sky TV coverage at the business end of this season.
One of them is a potentially pivotal visit of Nottingham Forest, which will now go ahead on Monday, March 29.
Nine days earlier, United’s game at Bristol City will kick off at 5.20pm, rather than three o’clock.
And so a potential full house against Forest may not materialise and anyone who fancied going by train to Bristol better be prepared to book a hotel or bed down on a station platform.
Pretty much every Newcastle player who ever drew breath has acknowledged their fans as a 12th man. When will the people running the club do the same?
When they have blown promotion? Perhaps, just perhaps . . .
