FOR the first time in nine years, I sat my driving test last week.
Now I’m based in Los Angeles I needed a California driving licence. I bought a car but me and the wife needed to do it to be insured.
We’ve both been driving in the UK for nine years. I passed my test when I was 17, and it was the same for her.
Even though driving in USA, on the “wrong” side of the road and in a left-hand drive, I found the test a walk in the park. I got one minor fault for driving too slowly because I didn’t have a clue what the limit was.
My missus on the other hand got the maximum of 14 minor faults. One more and she would have failed.
Maybe it’s a good job she wore a tight top!
