Thomas Cook fail to pass on honeymoon upgrade

A HOLIDAY company admitted messing up a flight booking by honeymooners Keith and Sharon Flook.

The couple had booked premium seats to make their return flight from Florida to Newcastle more special. But they were put in ordinary seats because no one had passed on their special booking to the airline.

Keith said: “It spoiled what was a wonderful honeymoon.”

A spokeswoman for Thomas Cook said: “We would like to apologise unreservedly to Mr and Mrs Flook. The seats they booked in the premium cabin were unavailable on their flight home from Orlando Sanford airport to Newcastle.

“This occurred as a result of a system error which meant their booking details were not forwarded to Monarch Airlines.”

“We have refunded Mr and Mrs Flook the cost of the flight upgrade and offered compensation for their disappointment and the inconvenience.”
