Payment for meter error

Thumbs up

ENERGY supplier npower have agreed to wipe £50 off a customer’s bill.

The money is compensation for delays in getting an accurate meter reading.

Robert Dodds, of Gateshead, told me he was leaving his heating off because of high bills.

He said: "I pay £118 per month for gas and electricity but I am still chilled to the bone."

A spokesman for npower admitted there were delays in sending bills because of incorrect readings.

He said: "We have now sent Mr Dodds a correct bill and added a credit of £50 for the delay."
