A HOLIDAY company has threatened to withdraw an offer of compensation.
Louise Hutton was offered £250 by Planet Travel Direct after her trip to Turkey.
But sales director Andrew Walters, replying to her request for more money, is considering snatching it back.
He said: “I believe an offer of £250, which represents almost half of their holiday cost, is more than generous and almost certainly more than would be awarded through arbitration and the courts.
“And I am tempted to retract the offer and let Mrs Hutton pursue this through such channels.”
Louise, of Hexham, Northumberland, had complained that her original hotel had been overbooked and she had to spend her holiday in a different hotel.
In addition, the holiday company did not make arrangements for transport to the airport at the end of the holiday.
Andrew said she had been overbooked by the hotelier, not Planet Travel Direct, and he had taken Louise’s return journey into consideration.
