North man wins payout from insurance firm

READER Allan McKeswick asked me to “cheque” it out in a dispute with his insurance company.

He had expected £100 from esure after a flood but no cheque arrived

The insurance company had earlier agreed to pay the amount and let Allan, a decorator, do the work himself.

Allan, of Blakelaw, Newcastle, said no one replied to his emails asking where the money was.

It was up to me, then!

David Carswell, of esure’s customer relations executive, said: “We apologised for the failure to action his earlier emails, which were not passed to the claims team, and a cheque for the £100 has been processed.”

And there was more good news when the company agreed to pay an additional amount after talking to Allan.

David said: “We discussed the re-decoration costs, which he done himself, and he says it was two days work. This would have cost approximately £150.”

Allan later confirmed he received a total of £250.
