I WON a tad more compensation for reader Patricia Beurskens in her dispute over faulty furniture.
Patricia, of Ferryhill, County Durham, told me of a catalogue of complaints with a suite from SCS.
Bits of a recliner fell off, four different people tried and failed to fix it, and eventually she was offered a new suite.
Patricia said: “Our new suite arrived. Brilliant, I thought.”
But that wasn’t the end of the problem and you can guess what happened next.
Patricia said: “Oh no, they sent the wrong chair and a new one was ordered. When we finally got the chair it still wasn’t right . . . it needed stitching. It needed to go back to get repaired.”
Now that really was a catalogue of errors, wasn’t it.
Patricia went on to say she was offered compensation but wasn’t happy with the offer of £125.
A spokesman for SCS said: “This has now been investigated and the amount of compensation has been increased by £25 which the customer has accepted in final settlement.”
It’s not much but it made Patricia happy.
