X Factor performance ruined

A NIGHT out at an X Factor Live concert proved to be disappointing for Daphne Threadgold-Reay.

She said the gig at the Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle, was spoiled because some members of the audience restricted her view by standing on the seats.

Daphne, of Stocksfield, Northumberland, said: “I was unable to see the show, or the big screens, as people were standing on their seats and in the aisle. My seats were chosen carefully as I have difficulty walking and I am unable to stand for any length of time.”

Daphne and her daughter left 40 minutes into the show after the Arena said they could not be moved.

The Arena said it was difficult to stop patrons standing up because they could get excited at concerts.

They offered £10 in vouchers to be spent at the venue. When I asked for a comment, a spokesman for the Arena said they had already increased the offer.

He said: “This has moved on. She has received two tickets for another show by way of saying sorry.

“Some people think standing is part of the event and others get upset.”
