Halifax says sorry and settles two claims

ALL Linda Bowmer wanted was a little x-tra help over two insurance policies.

But the Halifax were still trying to decide whether to meet the claims. And that’s when Linda got the additional help she needed – from me!

I passed the complaint to Halifax and they finally made a decision in her favour.

Linda, of Washington, Tyne and Wear, had claimed separately for sickness and unemployment.

She told me: “I am not really happy with the way this situation has been handled.

“What seems to have caused part of the problem is that my previous employer stated on a form that I had been dismissed, which sounds as if I did something wrong.

“I wasn’t dismissed. I didn’t go back because my doctor advised me to find a less stressful job as my health problems were work-related.

“The Halifax always seem to want more information from my doctor and my former employer.

“I feel this is dragging on and I am being fobbed off.” I passed the complaint to the Halifax, where a spokesman apologised for delayed decisions. He said: “ I would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused whilst Mrs Bowmer was dealing with the Halifax.
