When is no charge a charge?

WHAT do you expect to happen if Talk Talk tells you there will be no charges for an engineer’s call out?

You expect, er, no charges. Not in Talk Talk’s world, you don’t.

Leslie Williamson was told there would be no call out charges when the company sent an engineer to find out why there was a noise on his line.

But he later got a bill for £97.75.

Leslie told me: “The engineer called because my phone line was making a loud crackling noise.

“He told me the filter had come out of the socket and inserted it back in. At this point he told me there would be no charge. Three months later I received an on-line phone bill with an engineer’s fee.”

Leslie, of Wideopen, Newcastle, was then passed from pillar to post in his attempt to get it sorted.
