FLASH, bang, wallop, what a picture when Charles Aynsley complained about his camera.
Charles had used his brand new digital camera for just 19 minutes in a year before it conked out.
Off he went to the shop he bought it from, Currys, only to be told it was out of guarantee.
A similar approach to the manufacturers had the same result. Charles, of Blyth, Northumberland, put it down to experience and got on with his life.
But it still nagged at him and, with another year gone, he decided to ask for my advice.
He said: “I still have the camera although it is totally useless.
I would like my money refunded because I had to buy a replacement.”
I passed the complaint to Currys and was pleased with what they had to say.
A spokeswoman said: “We have contacted Mr Aynsley and, although he was out of warranty, have offered him a partial refund of £150 which he is happy with.”
