IT looked a bit awkward for Sean Pleasants.
His dishwasher had been condemned and was to be returned to Currys for a replacement.
But, before the arrangements could be made, a passing scrap man took it from outside his house.
Sean, of Springwell Village, Gateshead, was left with egg on his face.
He said: “The dishwasher had been left outside where a scrap man unfortunately removed it. We told Currys but they said we needed the old one to get a replacement. I realise in hindsight we should have kept the old one. Is there anything you can do to help?”
Yes, there was. I asked Currys if they could sort Sean out. A spokeswoman said: “It is now sorted. We have decided to exchange the machine.
“Normally it would have to go back to the manufacturer, but it would be unfair if we didn’t do something for Mr Pleasants.”
