Snap happy at change of mind

A FAMILY-RUN photo business gets a thumbs-up for going that extra mile for a customer.

Vera Pace told me she had bought a camera for £70 but changed her mind.

Vera, of Wallsend, North Tyneside, said: “There was nothing wrong with the camera, but I returned the next week and asked for a refund.

“The people in the shop refused but said I could have a credit note instead.

“Are they within their rights to say they do not give refunds?”

Yes, Vera, they are! I told her the shop was correct because there is no legal obligation to take back goods which are not faulty.

But I agreed to ask if they could do something out of the goodness of their hearts.

And that’s when Graeme and Steven Watson, proprietors of Foto Snaps in Wallsend, came up trumps.

They said: “As the shop is family- owned we have decided that if Mrs Pace comes into the shop with the camera she will be given a full refund in cash.”
