A SECOND customer has asked for my help over a food fight.
Last year I revealed how businesswoman Alison Ferguson was locked in a row with publishers Quality Food Online.
The company offered free grub in return for advertising on takeaway menus.
But Alison, of Bishop Auckland, County Durham, wanted her money back when the deal was not as good as she thought.
The company agreed to scrap a bill for £179.
Now I hear from Rachel Cross, of design company No9 Designs, who told me she was also fighting for her money back after changing her mind over advertising.
Internet reader Rachel, of Derby, told me: “I too have been really hit by this company.
“I have a small business, based at home, that designs wedding stationery.”
Rachel said there was confusion as to what she was entitled to in the way of free food, a charge for artwork, and the size of the print run.
Rachel said she wanted out of the contract, worth £700, but was told she was tied in.
I emailed my old sparring partner Greg Webster giving full details of Rachel’s complaint.
He said: “I have looked into the details and Ms Cross is currently dealing with our customer service team.
“I am sure that they will be able to resolve any issues that may be outstanding.”
Rachel said the customer service team had telephoned her with good news.
She said: “They have cancelled the contract and will return the money.
“I can’t thank you enough. I was so worried.”
In the earlier case Alison Ferguson said she was under the impression she was entitled to free meals at two restaurants every week that could be held over if she couldn’t make it.
But it turned out she was given free meals at just one restaurant and it could not be held over.
On that occasion Greg said he was not allowed to reveal the results of the company’s internal investigation.
