A CARPET has been replaced after I took up a complaint from pensioner Joseph Weldon.
Joseph told me how he had bought the floor covering but, within weeks, was disappointed.
He said: “We bought a living room carpet from Brandling Carpets in Gosforth.
“Within weeks we noticed that it was not wearing properly as the pile was starting to lie flat.
“The shop agreed and promised to investigate with the manufacturer.”
And that’s when there seems to have been a misunderstanding with the shop.
Joseph said he was waiting for them to get back to him.
At the same time Ian Thompson, at the shop, said he was waiting for Joseph.
But I was able to get both of them talking again.
He said: “It is slightly flattened. Mr Weldon can swap the carpet for a better-quality one and pay the difference or I can replace it like-for-like with nothing extra to pay.”
Joseph, of Wideopen, Newcastle, chose the second option and now has a new carpet.
