TV trouble’s a turn-off

ALL Frank Spalding wanted was a little colour back into his black and white life.

Was that too much to ask, he wanted to know?

Frank asked for my help when the colour on his telly became faulty. He said: “The TV is 11 months old and is still in warranty. The colour is going funny but the manufacturers are fobbing me off.

“I’m always on the phone, I have had to repeatedly explain the problem, and it is still not sorted.”

Frank, of Gateshead, said his problem was with the manufacturers. But I decided to ask Currys, where the TV was bought, if there was anything they could do.

I passed the complaint to them and, within days, Frank was seeing the world in colour again. A spokeswoman said: “It was discovered that the issue related to one of his cables.

“His satellite company resolved this when he got their services set up. We have suggested that he comes back to us in the future should he encounter problems and we have agreed a £20 payment voucher for his out-of-pocket expenses.”
