HEATHER and David Thompson were looking forward to their wedding reception surrounded by family and friends dancing to a band recommended by a pal.
But, just three days before they tied the knot, the band – Soul Reason – cancelled the gig.
Heather, of Ryton, Gateshead, asked for my help after no one had returned her £50 deposit almost a year after the wedding.
She said: “We were really looking forward to the band but it was them who cancelled.
“I was left with the problem of arranging alternative music at short notice and at a premium rate.
“It was very disappointing and I feel let down by the band.” The gig, at Otterburn Tower, Northumberland, was booked with vocalist Guy Adams.
Heather said she had tried to contact Guy by phone and letter but he did not reply.
But he did reply to me and said the appearance had been cancelled for personal reasons and he was no longer associated with the group.
He also said he had moved away from Newcastle, where Soul Reason was based.
He said: “I have made a profuse apology to Heather for what happened and said I wanted to resolve it as soon as possible. I said I will send a full refund.”
