Washington woman seals driveway repair

A DRIVEWAY company has promised to repair a damaged drive for a reader.

Christine Heighton, of Washington, Tyne and Wear, told me how light patches appeared and then turned into holes.

Some repairs were carried out but the same thing happened again. The drive was installed by the Patterned Concrete Company, of Swalwell, Gateshead.

She said: “They blamed severe weather but I am certain the spots started before.

“One year on and the drive is even worse. Holes have come back in the same places and there are new light patches waiting to develop into holes.”

I spoke to boss Tony Adams who insisted the cause was inclement weather. He said: “It’s not the customer’s fault, and it’s not ours, but we are doing what we can.

“It’s not just us, it’s an industry-wide problem, but we are not going to walk away.

“We will re-seal for free and fill in any holes even though the drive has been down for five years.”
