Delay over broken LG washer for Killingworth mum

NICOLA Cookson would like to wash those men right out of her hair.

The men in question being anyone from LG involved in the saga of her broken washing machine.

Nicola told me she was put in a spin two months ago when the machine broke.

Since then, she said, LG have been less than fast in authorising a repair or replacement.

Nicola, of Killingworth, North Tyneside, said she was exhausted after trying to get it fixed.

She said: “I feel like a tennis ball at Wimbledon being hit over the net but going nowhere.

“I am shocked that such an expensive machine – it cost £450 – has only lasted two and a half years.

“I have had help with my washing but, with a messy hubby and a five-year-old son, I am desperate for my own machine again.

“I know there are so many more important things going on in the world than a broken washing machine but I have just sat and cried as I feel so helpless.”

I passed the complaint to LG and waited for them to do something.

A spokeswoman said: “We are just looking into the details of this and will be in touch shortly.”

Later, Nicola had a call from local contractors, who inspected the appliance and agreed it was a big job.

Nicola said: “A man came and said the damage in the machine is very bad.

“The drum is cracked and the circuits ruined, water has got into the electrics, and virtually the whole inside of the machine needs to be replaced.

“He said, ideally, the machine should be condemned, but I may have to accept a repair.

“The earliest it could potentially be fixed is eight weeks after the machine died.

“I have spent a small fortune on flowers and chocolates to friends and family who have been helping me with my washing for the past few weeks.”

Nicola has now received confirmation that the appliance will be repaired.

Just a repair, LG? How about going through the whole cycle and authorising a replacement?
