Refund for Morpeth woman after Ocean Drive Shutters delay

IT was an open-and-shut case when Stephanie Grist came to me with a complaint about the shutters she never had.

Stephanie told me she had ordered two shutters – one for the dining room and one for the landing window – in mid July.

She paid £293 deposit, sat back and waited for them to arrive. And waited. And waited.

She waited until the end of September, and decided enough was enough. That’s when she asked for my help.

Stephanie, of Morpeth, Northumberland, told me: “We have still not received our shutters and have not been given a delivery date. I sent a letter of complaint but no one has got back to explain what is happening.

“It would be nice to have the shutters, but I think I want my deposit returned now.”

I spoke to David Morris, of Ocean Drive Shutters, who said the hardwood shutters were made to measure overseas and customers would be told there was an eight-week wait for delivery.

He said: “She will get her full refund, every single penny, I don’t think that’s too bad.”
