No tears over ripped sofa

THERE was suite news for Doreen Gargett when I asked ScS to investigate her complaint about furniture.

Doreen, of Byker, Newcastle, discovered a split on her sofa.

She said the Sunderland-based company had originally refused to do anything.

She told me: “Two weeks after delivery I noticed a small split which I expected them to fix.

“They said I did not report it within 72 hours and wouldn’t even come out to have a look.”

Doreen was concerned that the split would get bigger as time marched.

I passed the complaint to ScS and, within a few days, arrangements were made for an upholsterer to call.

A spokeswoman said: “The goods were delivered and the customer reported a tear some three weeks later. An appointment was made with the customer to inspect the furniture.”

Doreen later told me: “The tear is sealed, it’s all done, so ScS did something in the end.”
