I’M always happy to pass on a thumbs-up from readers who have experienced good service from companies. So stand up and take a bow, health care company Niagara, for doing the decent thing for pensioners Margaret and James Wealleans.
The couple were prompted to tell me of their experiences after my recent article about the company. I told how they refunded pensioner Elizabeth Urwin £1,450 after she complained that a therapy device did nothing for her aches and pains.
Sales manager Martin Sampson told me the company had done nothing wrong but was willing to offer the refund anyway.
He said: “The company fully understands that the product did not succeed in meeting her expectations. Therefore, in light of this, we have made the decision to uplift this product and provide a full refund.”
Margaret, of Fenham, Newcastle, said: “I’m sad Mrs Urwin did not get any ease from the Niagara Pad.
“Both my husband and myself use something similar and, although it does not take the ailment away, it does help when needed.
“I would like to say it was bought at an exhibition in 1978 on the Town Moor and, at the time, it cost £140. We are now 90 and 92 and it does not owe us anything, so praise where it is due.”
