A TWO-YEAR battle with TalkTalk ended when customer Lyle Talbot asked for my help.
He told me he was waiting for two small refunds from the company.
Not much, it has to be said, but it was better in his pocket than theirs.
Lyle, of Hexham, Northumberland, said: “In September 2009 I signed a two-year contract with TalkTalk for the provision of both telephone and broadband.
“In return TalkTalk would reimburse the first six months of the broadband element of the service, a total of £38.94, on either my first or second bill. To date this has not happened.
“Also I had been with Tiscali, which was taken over by TalkTalk, which left an outstanding credit to me of £4.40. This amount has not been repaid.
“As a consequence I have cancelled the contract and had a final demand for £20.97 in cancellation charges.”
A spokeswoman for TalkTalk agreed to investigate.
Lyle later told me: “I have received notification that my outstanding balance has been cleared and that a refund of the amounts owing is in the post.
“Thank you, you sorted the matter in two days, a result I could not get in two years.”
