Double trouble with TV cracker

IT was extreme bad luck when Natasha Orr and David Winter sent their TV away for repair and it came back with a smashed screen.

Then, to make matters worse, it was sent away for a replacement screen only to come back with ... another smashed screen.

Natasha, of Sunderland, told me how she had double trouble after sending the TV to Currys.

She said: “It broke down so I sent it to the Know How technical department at Currys.

“It came back in bubble wrap, was unwrapped in the house, and it was then I discovered the first broken screen.

“It went away for another repair, came back, and this time they didn’t even take it off the delivery truck.

“They said the screen was broken and it would have to go away for another repair.

“This has happened twice now and I don’t want it repaired. I want a new TV.”

I passed the complaint to Currys and was pleased with the response.

Spokeswoman Joanna Softly told me: “We are sorry the customers experienced issues when their TV was sent away for repair.

“We have issued them with a voucher for £799 so they can replace their TV – which they have now done.”
