Miss Sunday Sun is back!

THE hunt for the next Miss Sunday Sun begins today.

Last year’s competition was such a success, with hundreds of entries, that we have again teamed up with AM Models to run a second search for wannabe catwalk queens.

There are some fantastic prizes to be won, including a substantial cash award and a one-year contract with top North modelling agency AM Models.

Owner Leah Wilson, 31, said aspiring catwalk queens could find themselves at fashion shows and working for magazines and on TV.

She said: “We’ll be looking for someone who is going to get the most work.

“Ideally, that means someone who is the right height for the catwalk and who is able to fit into lots of different categories of modelling.

“She also needs to be reliable, able to work at short notice, have a nice friendly personality and a good attitude.”

The prize also includes a free portfolio of photos. Last year’s winner, Cheryl Davison, 24, a doctor’s receptionist from Chapel Park, Newcastle, beat off competition from scores of other girls to land the coveted title.

She said: “It was fantastic winning. I would say to anyone considering entering, ‘Definitely give it a go’.”

And asked about her tips for winning the title, Cheryl said: “Just be yourself. Maybe send in a picture where you haven’t got loads of make up on so you just look natural.”

The final will be made up of 20 girls and will be staged at a top North venue. The winner must be ready to carry out assignments for the Sunday Sun and competition sponsors.
