NORTH actor Robson Green became Robson Blue when describing his love of things Down Under recently.
Speaking to the papers in Australia about his latest programme, Make or Break which is being shot there, he didn’t seem to give a XXXX for his family image.
The 44-year-old star is quoted as saying: “I keep forgetting there is a quirk in Australia you don’t find anywhere else in the world which I really love.
“And I’m sort of naive to that, naive to the heat and the bugs and the red-belly snakes and all that.
“The f**king animals they’ve got in Australia. It’s like they come from a nuclear power station, you know. That’s not natural selection, that’s plutonium, that.
“I saw a f**king anthill the other day, I thought what f**king size ant is in there? It was the size of my house. What the f**k lives there? I stopped the car.”
Robson, who was born in Hexham, Northumberland, and grew up in Dudley, North Tyneside shot to fame in Soldier Soldier.
His best known role is as forensic psychologist Dr Tony Hill in the Wire in the Blood series.
Make or Break, is about a man who relocates to Australia with his family after his wife has an affair. It is a pilot programme which he hopes will be turned into a series
Robson said: “I’ve been to Australia a lot and there’s something wonderfully calming about it. Coming into Sydney Harbour and seeing the vista of the bridge. It’s great. I love working in Australia and many of my programmes are very popular there but it was hard to be away from the family for six weeks.”
He added: “I sell very well. As an actor, I sell very well in Europe and abroad.
“My stuff’s shown in 36 countries around the world. Everything I do works in that market and I think Make of Break will be another one that fits in. In that respect, I think it will go to series.”
