Fugitive still on run

Andrew Vincent Doyle

ONE of Britain’s most wanted men is still at large, despite two sightings in the North.

Police want to quiz Andrew Vincent Doyle, 34, over a number of vicious assaults and a firearms charge, following incidents in Liverpool and Brighton.

Doyle — listed as one of the UK’s most wanted men on the Crimestoppers website — is known to have connections in Newcastle, Gateshead and Brighton, and he was spotted in Gateshead on May 25 and sometime over the weekend of June 7 and 8.

Police in Merseyside, who are leading the search, now believe he is travelling between Liverpool and the North East, and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

A spokeswoman said: “We have had another possible sighting in Gateshead.

“We are following up a few lines of inquiry.”

Police have advised the public not to approach Doyle, who is wanted in connection with three serious assaults. He is also wanted in Brighton for possession of a bladed weapon.

Doyle also goes by the names Ian Edwards, Ted Doyle and Mark Leek. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
