A FILM director returned to South Africa to shoot a documentary on the AIDS crisis . . . and was happily reunited with the girl who first inspired the film.
Four years ago, Daniel Larson Sidhu, of Gosforth, Newcastle, met Sibongile, a young girl with HIV AIDS in a South African orphanage.
He said: “Meeting her again was overwhelming. I took her a doll she had asked for and she was delighted.
“She looks well and strong.
“It was by far the biggest highlight of the trip that was otherwise, at times, extremely harrowing.”
Daniel returned with his film company Blue Rain Productions Limited to film footage for their new documentary Voices — the Southern African HIV/ AIDS Crisis.
