Comics’ ratings therapy

LOCAL LADS Ant and Dec have been a smash hit with followers of the controversial religion Scientology.

The chirpy duo’s new game show Do You Wanna Bet? is being used to help recovering drug addicts at a church rehab clinic.

Patients at the clinic in Narconon, Colorado, have been urged to tune in.

One patient said: “We have been encouraged to watch the show because it cheers us up and supports many of the Scientologist beliefs.

“We’d never heard of Ant and Dec before, but they’re adorable and we’re all massive fans now.”

The second show on Monday had 3.4m viewers, a far cry from the 10m viewers who regularly tune in to their British shows.

About 3.5m Americans follow the religion, which was founded by science-fiction author L. Ron Hubbard in 1952.
