Hoping to switch from the counter to catwalk

SHOP assistant Emma Maddison hopes to swap her life selling clothes . . . to making a living modelling them.

The latest entrant to our Miss Sunday Sun competition currently works as a part-time sales assistant for a major high street fashion store.

But the 18-year-old from Darlington would love to make it as a full-time model.

And, like many of our recent hopefuls, Emma has a family member to thank for being entered into the competition.

She said: “My grandad came round the other week and said I should enter.

“My mum took some quick photos and sent them in and, only a few days later, we got a phone call saying a photographer would like to come round.”

If modelling doesn’t work out, Emma has her hopes set on joining the police force. She said: “I’m working in a shop at the moment but I am going to start a public service course soon, which I hope will qualify me for the police.”

Entries for Miss Sunday Sun are now closed. We will be revealing a shortlist of finalists in the near future.
