Girls aloud ignore tabloid talk

POP princesses Girls Aloud have revealed their “Chemistry” is stronger than ever after a turbulent year in their personal lives.

Band member Cheryl, of Heaton, Newcastle, was left devastated in January when it was claimed her footballer hubby Ashley Cole had been playing away from home. However, speaking exclusively to the Sunday Sun, singer Kimberley Walsh revealed she and the other girls — Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding and Nicola Roberts — have ignored all tabloid talk about Cheryl’s marriage woes.

Kimberley, 26, said: “We have always been strong as a group, whatever the Press wants to say.

“We’re all strong and know where we’re at. We don’t take too much notice of the Press.

“We know what our plans are and where we are at, it’s never been any different from day one.”

Kimberley spoke to us as the girls prepare to burst onto stage at an open-air gig at Beamish Hall Hotel, in County Durham, later this month.

Having just taken a break after their sell-out Tangled Up tour, Bradford-born Kimberley told how the girls are raring to go.

Kimberley said: “People have offered us gigs at various locations but obviously Cheryl was thrilled to be heading closer to her home.”

“I really like the North as well so I’m looking forward to it too . . . it’s more about the people up there, the crowd will be amazing.

“We have been out a few times in the North but it’s a bit difficult to go out together. It can be a bit dangerous so we have to try and enjoy time there as much as we can.”

The two-day festival at Beamish Hall Hotel, on Sunday, August 24, is organised by local charity Hope 4 Kidz.

Tickets to the Girls Aloud concert cost £35, while the Big Bash tickets cost £20. Both are available from organisers Hope 4 Kidz on 0191-534 7788 or from www.seetickets.com
