The event is being organised by Theresa Cave whose son Chris, 17, was stabbed to death in Redcar in 2003.
She is being helped by John Johnson whose son Kevin, 22, was murdered after he challenged three yobs outside his Sunderland home in 2007.
Theresa, of Redcar, Teesside, said: “We want mothers and fathers to come out and support the march to send a message to youngsters of today that we are trying to protect their future.
“The only way to change the law is through a national referendum as politicians keep saying they are quite happy with the sentences for murder.
“The more people who take part the better as then the politicians will realise how much people want sentences changed.”
John added: “By the time they are 30 years old my son’s killers will be out of prison.
“But my son is never coming back and his young son will never know his daddy.”
