Lottery scammers target North households

INTERNATIONAL lottery scammers are continuing to target North households as part of a multi-million pound fraud racket.

The lottery cheats, believed to be operating from Spain, have bombarded people in the region with letters and documents in a bid to obtain their bank details.

Last month the Sunday Sun reported how several readers had received letters claiming they had won a jackpot of £700,000, from El Gordo, the official Spanish lottery.

But the mailshot was actually from a promotions company using the El Gordo trademark.
