Metrosexual man Brian McCourt launches Mr Vain competition

Bryan McCourt, 37, of Darlington

EX-ELECTRICIAN Bryan McCourt has had botox, derma fillers, skin peels and teeth whitening to stay looking young. But he insists to LIZ LAMB that he isn’t vain.

DRESSED in a slick navy suit, Bryan McCourt looks like a man who believes image is everything.

His face is wrinkle-free, his skin tanned to perfection, hair perfectly coiffured and he’s sporting a smile of glistening pearly whites.

He may be 37 but he looks at least 10 years younger.

But to look this good, Bryan has done all he can to defy the ageing process.

His beauty regime consists of:

Regular botox injections to rid himself of wrinkles.

Dermal fillers to plump up the skin around his mouth.

Chemical facial peels to clear his complexion.

Bleaching his teeth to remove stains and discolouration.

“I have been accused of being vain,” says the businessman, “ but it’s not because of botox. It’s because I like nice clothes and I like to look good.

“People think it’s unusual that I do all this and that I’m heterosexual, but it’s not. It’s more acceptable now for men to have things done and spend time on themselves. Gone are the days when people are vilified for it.

“I have never been that stereotypical man. Even when I worked as an electrician, which is seen as quite a masculine profession, I always made an effort to look good. I wouldn’t say that I am over the top.”

Bryan, who is single, is originally from Consett but now lives in Darlington. He has been having botox for six years.

Bryan says: “I’ve noticed a massive difference. I have had nothing but good results.

“The first time I had it done was for my crows’ feet around my eyes. After three days I thought this hasn’t worked but then after a week the crows’ feet had gone. It was amazing, to the point where my mates actually noticed. They have all had it done now.

“I have botox every six months now. I’ve had fillers too, which lasts a bit longer and I have had skins peels where they put on a solution on your face and after seven days the skin starts peeling and it takes layers off.
