Chris McGlade to show Redcar film in Parliament

A TOWN used as the setting for a Hollywood blockbuster will soon be hitting the big screen again . . . but this time for all the wrong reasons.

The beaches at Redcar were used to shoot the Dunkirk battle scenes in the World War Two film Atonement.

But now Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is caught up in another battle and this time the film will be shown in the Houses of Parliament.

The documentary features comedian Chris McGlade who has spent five years making allegations against council officials, which cannot be revealed for legal reasons.

The screening has been organised by an MP who is demanding an independent investigation if Labour politicians can’t provide answers.

Mr McGlade began his campaign after being angered by plans for a housing and a leisure complex at Coatham.

He and other campaigners claimed the £93 million development would rob the town of an area that is used as a village green.

Two years ago, he was questioned by detectives after setting up a website which made allegations against council members and Cleveland Police.
