“The rubble was four to five feet high and at least the same across. It would have taken us hours to clear by hand.”
Luckily help was at hand from Sirius, a demolition company pulling down the nearby old Kieper College.
Workmen used a digger to remove the rubble, put it on to a wagon and led it to a landfill site.
Liam’s condition is called Myotubular myopathy, a very rare genetic condition that only affects boys.
He cannot breathe unaided and has been rushed into hospital on a number of occasions.
Phil said: “It was very generous of Sirius. We were grateful to them, but the drive was still blocked for hours.
“If they ever catch who did this, I hope they throw the book at them.”
