Warren Speed to star in top show in Paris

OOH La La! Comedian Warren Speed is stripping down his act to the bare essentials to star in a top show in Paris, alongside striptease royalty Dita Von Teese.

The dad-of-two is heading to the Casino de Paris for a two-week stint in the French capital, where he’ll tread the boards with Dita, who is the undisputed “queen of burlesque”.

Dita – real name Heather Sweet – is well known for her 1940s film star looks and elaborate striptease dances, including a feather fan dance and her signature routine which features a giant martini glass.

Audiences are set to get an eyeful of Dita and Warren when they see the Gentry de Paris show, although they may get a shock when they see Warren’s half of the act.

He starts out dressed as Charlie Chaplin . . . but strips right down to decorative tassles on his nipples and backside.

Warren, 40, of Kingston Park, Newcastle, said: “It’s going to be fantastic. Dita Von Teese is the biggest star by far in the world of burlesque.

The former probation officer originally devised his act when he realised there was no male version of the burlesque dance performed by the likes of Dita, ex-wife of controversial rocker Marilyn Manson.

And news of his unique act has travelled far, as he has taken his decorative tassles to Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Rome and London.
